A to Z Challenge - R is for...

If you haven't heard of it, check out the A to Z blog and join in the fun.
Here at Untethered Realms, we're taking on the Challenge as a group. Each day, one of us will be sharing with you a teaser from one of our books...except that today has a peculiar twist to it.

Welcome to the A to Z special edition of Tuesday Tea!

What's in a word? More than meets the eye if Jezebel's in charge! It's R day and our mischievous vixen wanted to challenge each of the Untethered Realms members - after they've imbibed some of her special blend of punch, of course. The R words below were given to her victims for definition with, uh, unique results. And the actual definitions? See for yourself how well our lovely contestants did. Not too well, I'd say, but they look like they're having fun over at the bar!

Rittmaster – “Derives from the Old High German writtershreckermeister, the master of the writtershrecker. A writtershrecker is an extinct creature with the head of a rat, the body of a squirrel, and the tail of a beaver. Chiefly nocturnal, it lived a semi-aquatic life in castle moats, preying on anyone drunk or stupid enough to fall in. Its origin is unknown, assumed to be the work of a witch or alchemist. Hunters specializing in exterminating the beasts were known as writtershreckermeisters. The modern term now applies to rat exterminators.”

  1. The contestants definitions have infinitely more class and charm than Phrontistery (which sounds like an accountant's name to me). I hope they have left some punch for me.

  5. I think the made up definitions were way more fun than the real ones. Especially the last one. It had a one word definition. Why not just use that word??? =\
